I know, I'm all for community. xD I've had an account here many years ago, I left because I had a dial-up at the time, I was in school and no one had much of a community spirit. Things haven't changed much. n_n;
We only threw out dial up when I went to uni 3 years ago. Since then we got the BT Home Hub - infact my family got that before any of them got laptops - I had mine but I wasn't always here...which was a bit daft back then, but as we have all made the switch to laptops, it's very handy - plus we're doing out our cellar at the moment, so the old PC's that are still in use aren't going to be a pain to move.
Got my broadband 3 year ago too. x3 I have a laptop, but... the fan broke so I have to use a cooling pad, along with my keyboard so I'm using a USB one and my touchpad, which I use my tablet instead. The harddrive is in great condition... just not my laptop. xDD All of my friends make fun of it because of the way it is. xD Once I get enough moola set up, I'm gonna get me a Toshiba, one that's bloody robust because I'm clumsy obviously. ^^:
Macs are better. If you like windows more, just use boot camp and install windows - it works better on a mac, and they're more rugged. I find Toshiba laptops to get a little toasty sometimes...as can the Macbook Pro - hence why I got the black suave macbook. Being black it doesn't stand out to thieves as much - not that I'd worry about that because I installed iAlertU (You tube that, it's brilliant! )
Working with video, I've seen some serious computer systems. Avid Adrenaline is kinda standard - but I know this one dude who's set up a production company who's got a CPU with a fan the size of a dinner plate!
I would consider that, but I want Window's XP because Vista is shit. I never used Mac before so I wouldn't have a clue where things are unlike Windows. x3 A cooling pad is a must for heavy duty stuff. It helps to stop the laptop from over heating. x3
Why would he want a fan the size of a plate? xD I can understand three small ones but not on big one. xDD
It's an edit system. Seriously, if you edit a feature film, you'll have a mac pro with x4 1TB Hard drives on it, which will fill up very quickly, especially if they have a high RPM.
Try Linux; it's more reliable, and quite close to Windows XP.
I really only use my scanner and Photoshop for anything creative. I just want something that isn't going to cost me a bomb and won't break when I drop it. xD Plus, Mac doesn't work with my Nintendo DS Wireless thingy because of the version. x.x;;;
It's the old style DS, but I don't care as long as it plays games. xD I'm gonna get a DS soon because I want to play FF7: Crisis Core. *is a hardcore FF fan*
